DARVILL'S LOGO WINS A GOLD IN THE GRAPHIS DESIGN AWARDS 2026

I’m pleased to announce that my recent branding work for Darvill’s, a 50-year old bookstore located on Orcas Island, WA, has worn a Gold in the Graphis Design Awards 2026. Per the Graphis website: “The award-winning work represents the talents behind the creative and setting new benchmarks in the global design industry.” Creative Directors Sara Farish and Dwight Duke are the perfect clients—insightful, brave, smart and decisive—a rarity in today’s modern business world. This trademark is a marriage of the local island bird, the cormorant, and an inviting open book as wings in creating an unexpected and somewhat classic logo treatment. Houston-based Jack Slattery is the illustrator.
